- 3 egg whites - ¼ cup of white sugar - 1 ⅔ of icing sugar - 1 cup of finely ground almonds - 2 medium to large sized bowls - 1 or 2 baking mats - 1 - 2 baking trays - Spoons - A whisk/ electric mixer - Ziploc bags [If you want a vibrant color, use strong EDIBLE AND BAKE-ABLE food dye- or disaster shall strike] Recipe: 1. Line a baking tray with a baking mat 2. Beat egg whites in a bowl until it’s foamy and light 3. Add white sugar and continue beating until the egg whites are fluffy, and have soft peaks. 4. Sift the icing sugar and ground almonds in a separate bowl and quickly fold the almond mixture into the egg whites, about 30 strokes. [DON’T over mix- it’ll be too dense] 5. Spoon a small amount of batter into a plastic bag with a small corner cut off and pipe a test disk of batter, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter, onto prepared baking sheet. 6. When batter is mixed enough to flatten immediately into an even disk, spoon into a pastry bag fitted with a plain round tip. Pipe the batter onto the baking sheet in rounds, leaving space between the disks. 7. Let the piped cookies stand out at room temperature until they form a hard skin on top, about 1 hour. 8. Preheat oven to 140 degrees C (285 degrees F) about 40 minutes in 9. Bake the macarons until they set but have not browned, for about 10 minutes. 10. Christmas Shortbread BitesIngredients: 1 cup of salted butter 2/3 cup of granulated sugar 1/2 tsp of almond extract 2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour 2 1/2 tbsp of rainbow sprinkles Directions: 1. Butter a 13 by 9 inch baking pan 2. Line the pan with 2 sheets of parchment paper, one horizontally and the other vertically 3. Add salted butter and granulated sugar into mixing bowl 4. Mix in almond extract 5. Slowly add in flour and mix until combined with mixer set on slow 6. Mix and fold in sprinkles. 7. Press dough into an even layer in pan 8. Chill dough 20 - 30 minutes. 9. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 10. Lift dough from pan using the parchment paper 11. Cut into 1/2-inch squares using a large sharp knife 12.Transfer about 1/3 of the cookies to an unbuttered baking sheet 13. Bake in oven for 8 - 12 minutes 14. Cool 14. 4 cups apple juice 2 cinnamon sticks 1/4 tsp. ground cloves 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg 2 tbsp. honey Directions: 1. Pour apple juice into a large pot and simmer for five minutes. 2. Add honey and all of the spices. 3. Simmer wih cover on for ten minutes. 4. Serve in mugs topped with more cinnamon! Enjoy! |
